... I dunno, call it post holiday blues. Call it unmanaged expectations. Call it being a spoiled brat - I was really let down by this morning's Mac World Expo Keynote presentation. While everything they debuted was indeed welcome, and/or needed, nothing really raised the bar on the technological status quo. We didn't see anything that expanded the powers or abilities of our current products that made them monumental must-haves. And we also didn't see any new product that warranted a re-jiggering of expenses to potentially afford them.
Here is a list of things that I really expect from Apple in 2009 (2010 at the latest! C'mon we're working on a literal apocalyptic deadline of 2012!!!).
5. Video Capabilities on the iPhone. (I mean, my old crappy phone did this!)
4. Cut and Paste on the iPhone. There is no reason for this to be lacking. NONE! This is the one REAL hold back from being a true corporate productivity device.
3. Blu-Ray drives on all Mac products. I realize the cost associated with this, but the only way that the cost of Blu-Ray will come down is the mass embrace. The only way the masses embrace it is with ancillary integration.
2. Snow Leopard. The newest operating system that will take to heart the things we LOVE and HATE about Leopard and make the world happy.
1. iTablet. My code name for the device to end all devices. The laptop sized iPhone that will revolutionize the home computing industry. What's infuriating is to see companies like HP and IBM with touch PC, utilizing Apple owned patents! I need a device that will allow me to sketch pen to pixel accurate directly onto a digital surface. I NEEEEEED IT.
C'mon guys. Get TO IT!
